Our founders began working in Zanzibar's transportation industry, gaining hands-on experience at established transport companies. Through daily work, they developed a deep understanding of how visitors move around the island and what travelers truly need.
Through direct conversations with tourists from around the world, one issue became clear: traditional taxi services were often expensive and not always practical. We conducted informal surveys and listened carefully to travelers' experiences, identifying gaps in Zanzibar's transportation options.
The idea of SpiceWheels was born combining transportation and tourism in a smarter, more affordable way. SpiceWheels Rental officially launched on 24 March 2023, focusing on reliable vehicle rentals and transfer services for visitors and locals alike.
Today, SpiceWheels continues to grow as a key service of SpiceWheels Zanzibar. With local knowledge, fair pricing, and dedicated service, we are proud to be your trusted mobility partner across the island.
