Historical Places Tour – Zanzibar's Living Museum

Zanzibar's history lives in every coral stone, every carved door, every alley. This walking tour follows sultans, explorers, and traders. We start at the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe), built by Omani Arabs in the 17th century. Then the House of Wonders (Beit al‑Ajaib) once East Africa's most modern building. Next, the Sultan's Palace (Beit al‑Sahel) offers a glimpse of royal life. The most moving stop is the Anglican Cathedral, built on the former slave market. Our guide shares stories of the slave trade, abolition, and Swahili resilience. We also explore Darajani Market spices, fish, and tropical fruits.
